Jointly with GGJSthlm, 23-25/1, Game Jam Stockholm will arrange a small youth jam.
The GGJSthlm Youth Jam is specifically directed towards 13-16 year olds who have some previous experience in either game making, programming or graphical design. In order to facilitate fluent team work, all participants are required to speak some Swedish, and also understand basic English.
The youth jam will take place during museum opening hours (10:00-17:00), except for on Friday 23/1 evening when the opening session will continue until 20:00.
The teams will receive tutoring by experienced game makers, while they work in a relatively self-organized fashion on a design of their own. The youth jam will adhere to the same (currently still secret) theme as the Global Game Jam and finished games will be uploaded to the global game jam site.
Participants apply to the youth jam via this web form. Accepted participants will be notified via email by Thursday 22/1.
For younger game makers, or creators with less experience in making games of their own, we recommend Barnhack, which is an introduction to programming -activity organized and run by Tekniska museet during the jam weekend.
